When
you know you know.
My
Background in a Nutshell...
My
educational concentration has always been in the arts. Before I
found my niche, I was trained in the fine arts (painting, illustration,
and photography). Never really finding my way through traditional
schooling, I found my teacher: the real world.
In
1995 that real world teacher took me to Europe to study the "Old
Masters" at the Louvre, Musee'D'orsey and the Prado. It was
here my sense of style and design was further developed. My passion
for design, color, and composition has brought me full circle in
the creative field.
When
looking back on the things for which I have been fortune to experience,
it's been a advantage to be able to bring that knowledge from the
above disciplines into my work. During this time which I have been
working as a graphic & web designer, I have also learned a great
deal about marketing, branding and various other facets of the print
& online world and what makes it all come together.
On
Being a Designer... Designing for the print, TV, outdoor, &
web is a constant process of change, growth and learning. To be
the best, evolve or get left behind.
"Good
design" is subjective and for me
"Good is the Enemy of Great".
Be
willing to learn from others.
Always be willing to teach others what you know.
The
software is constantly upgrading. Being a designer with a lot of
potential is more admirable than being proficient in every software
application on the market.
